In 2022 we ran a very successful pilot project in Pierremont Park. 5 fabulous planters, made at The Town Shed, were installed in the park. Each planter was sponsored by a business or organisation in the town. A team of keen volunteers grew a variety of herbs and vegetables for everyone to enjoy. The team had great conversations with locals and visitors and held two fun events where free vegetable plants and seeds were given away to encourage more people to grow their own veg.

We have expanded this project to other areas of Broadstairs and St Peter's during 2023. If you are interested in hosting another planter, getting involved as a volunteer or sponsoring as a local group or business, please contact : barbara@broadstairstownteam.org.uk

Events

We regularly host seed and plant swap and share sessions. Please join us to share a cuppa with other like-minded growers, whether you're experienced or just starting to explore how you can grow tasty veg and plants. We encourage everyone to help themselves to some free seeds, share hacks and tips about growing their own, and share with others any surplus plants you have grown at home too.

You're also welcome to browse through our new garden reference book library and share any books and magazines you have related to gardening and gorowing your own too.
