Dickens Mosaics getting the Town Team treatment
Town Team members felt that the lovely Dickens Mosaics needed some care and attention and we knew that artist Martin Cheek was keen to restore them. We talked to all the relevant authorities and got their support, we chucked in some cash, Martin did the restoration work and then the Town Team volunteers and the children from Upton School waded in to clean, weed and tidy the area. with a little help from our friends at East Kent Hire, the pubs across the road, mayor Ros Binks who mucked in and also kindly provided refreshments, etc. Margate Town Team are also now sorting out their mosaics, which feature the artist JMW Turner, so it's a big win win win across the Isle.
